ON THE AIR

The Odyssey Bookshop is one of five independent bookstores participating in WAMC's Roundtable on Tuesday mornings, just after the 10:00 news. People from the Odyssey will be on about once a month, talking about our favorite books.

Click here to see the list of the books we have talked about.

Odyssey Kids!
Gift of reading Club

Looking for an unusual and unique gift for the child in your life?
Consider the Gift of Reading Club!

How it works:

  • Each month the child will receive a handpicked book which is recently published and appropriate to his or her age group and reading level.

  • There are four categories of books: cloth/board books, picture books, young reader, and teen.

  • We will bill your credit card each month for the cost of the book plus shipping. The total charge will not exceed $25.00.  We'll always ask your permission before hand if special offers arise.

  • Any book can be returned for an exchange or credit toward a future purchase.

  • Each month's selection will be gift wrapped with a gift tag indicating who the book is from.  On appropriate months, we'll also include a special message, like "Happy Birthday!"

  • Enrollment is for as long as you'd like it to be.  The child will receive a book a month until we hear otherwise.

Gift of reading club
categories:

Board/Cloth Books
(Infant - Age 2/3)
These are books to be shared with very young children to introduce them to the world of reading.
Perfect for little hands, they can withstand rough treatment so they will last a long time.

Picture Books
(Ages 2-3 through 7-8)

Picture books contain stories that are both well-written and beautifully illustrated.
These books are just right for children beginning to read,
as well as for those who still love being read to.

Young Reader Books
(Ages 7-8 through 12-13)

From fantasy to adventure, new classics to obscure favorites,
these books are for children who can read independently.

Teen Books
(Ages 12-13 through 17-18)
From hot new series to newly published authors and everything in-between,
these books are for those big kid readers.
