One of the most popular authors of our time, Stephen King has written more than forty novels and two hundred short stories. He is the recipient of the 2003 National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters and the Canadian Booksellers Association Libris Award for Lifetime Achievement. He is the winner of an O. Henry Prize for his story, “The Man in the Black Suit,” and in 2007 he was inducted as a Grand Master of the Mystery Writers of America. He is the editor of The Best American Short Stories 2007. Among his most recent worldwide bestsellers are Duma Key, Lisey’s Story, Cell, The Dark Tower series, On Writing, The Green Mile, and Bag of Bones. His new collection of stories, Just After Sunset, is being published this November, and is available for sale with tickets to this event. He lives in Bangor, Maine, with his wife, novelist Tabitha King.

Prize-winning author Richard Russo is regarded by many critics as the best writer about small-town America since Sherwood Anderson and Sinclair Lewis. “He doesn't over-sentimentalize [small towns],” said Maureen Corrigan, the book critic for NPR's “Fresh Air.” Nor does he belittle the dreams and hardships of his working-class characters. He is the author of the novels Mohawk, The Risk Pool, Nobody’s Fool, Straight Man, Bridge of Sighs, Empire Falls, (winner of the 2002 Pulitzer Prize), and The Whore’s Child, a short story collection. He is also the editor of the new essay collection, A Healing Touch: True Stories of Life, Death, and Hospice. Russo lives with his wife in Coastal Maine.

Joe Donahue is the current host and editorial director for the daily award-winning Roundtable program for the nine station WAMC/Northeast Public Radio network, where he has dedicated his career to the excellence of radio broadcasting. Joe’s broadcasting hallmark is his combination of intelligent interviews with an amazing roster of guests. Some of his guests have included: the past seven presidents, the past five first ladies, Mikhail Gorbechev, Madeleine Albright, Arthur Miller, Tom Clancy, Maya Angelou, Mickey Rooney, Shirley MacLaine, Fred Rogers, Charlton Heston, and Jimmy Stewart, to name just a few. His interviews have been described as “in a category by themselves,” by Metroland Magazine and are distinguished by a blend of warmth and empathy, genuine curiosity, and sharp intelligence.
