27th Annual Spring Writing Contest

2022 Prompt

Imagine you wake up one morning and find a note that says, "For one whole day, you can go anywhere in the world just by snapping your fingers." Where would you go? Would you try and visit as many places as possible, or would you visit one special location for the whole day? What will you do when you get there?

Rules!

• Children in Grades 1-5 are eligible to enter. Children from homeschooling families in comparable grades are encouraged to enter too! One entry per child.
• Stories should be no longer than 600 words.
• An entry form must be attached to each submission (even when emailed). Contact details for the child's parent or guardian must be provided so that we can easily contact the winners. 
• Entries will be judged on the originality of the story, the creativity of the idea, and quality of writing, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling. There should also be evidence that the child completed the project independently.

Prizes!

Prizes will be awarded at each grade level:
1st Prize - $20 Odyssey Gift Certificate
2nd Prize - $15 Odyssey Gift Certificate
3rd Prize - $10 Odyssey Gift Certificate
