Join us Tuesday, September 17 at 7:00pm for a fun book reading and signing with Dusty Miller, author of Danger in the House, an Alice Ott Mystery. The evening will include an appearance by the Raging Grannies.
About the Book
Danger in the House, the fourth and final book in the Alice Ott mystery series, tackles current dangers and injustices present throughout the U.S. Alice and her crime-solving crew are committed to challenging injustice without losing their sense of humor. Danger in the House takes us on the breath-stopping journey of undocumented immigrants seeking sanctuary, a nurse facing racial profiling by local law enforcement, and a mysterious teen unsafe in his own home.
Alice Ott is based on the well-known local activist Frances Crowe. Frances and an outrageous gaggle of Raging Grannies often appear at local book-signings, adding authenticity to the adventures of Alice and friends. The Alice Ott series has been transformed into reader’s theater productions in Florida and the Pioneer Valley, attracting new readers to Alice’s adventures.
About the Author
Like Alice Ott, Dusty Miller is a social justice activist. She is a member of the Western Mass Raging Grannies and the Central Florida Raging Grannies. Dusty and her wife Dorothy are avid pickle ball players, and sing together in hospice-bedside singing groups in Western MA and Florida. Dusty is a retired psychologist. Her first nonfiction book, Women Who Hurt Themselves, made mainstream publishing sales seem very attractive. Although she is grateful for the success of her nonfiction books, Dusty is thrilled that the Alice Ott mystery series continues to be published by her local indie press, Levellers Press. Danger in the House completes the Alice Ott mystery quartet. Dusty is now hard at work on a new mystery series set in coastal Florida.
