About the Book
The Fever Poems comes as a response to the many facets of isolation experienced in our time and
charts its way through the translation of that experience into poetry, allowing limitation to lend itself
to unyielding expression. The result is a voice that wants to chew doom to a pulp and spit it out in new forms:
we are not hunters
our knives are but mirrors and shovels
they shine so we can dig ourselves
out of darkness
Kylie Gellatly's debut collection offers a way to explore the textures of human voice amidst a
rapidly-changing world. This collection is one that pleads for balance and begs the attention of the reader
to the finite lives we are living.
