The Odyssey Bookshop in South Hadley, MA is pleased to announce a new in-house-curated Poetry Book Club. Meeting once-a-month on the third Monday of the month at 6pm beginning September 19th at The Odyssey Bookshop, 9 College Street, South Hadley, MA; this club is open to any and all who are interested in modern poetry. We will be reading collections by a diverse group of modern poets who are in direct dialogue with events and experiences that question what it is to live (and die) within(/out) the confines of late-stage capitalist emergency existence. Jesse Hassinger, Odyssey’s Assistant Manager and First Editions Club Coordinator, will be curating this ongoing series with input and occasional collaboration with The Boutelle-Day Poetry Center at Smith College and Poetry at The Care Center in Holyoke.
When possible the Odyssey will be welcoming the poets in-person to public events scheduled prior to the Book Club’s regular meeting so that attendees can have an opportunity to hear the author read and speak about their work.
