Aster's family "temporarily" moves into the mountains because her mom is building a giant robot bird to lead the other giant birds away from the mountain during the great migration. She expects nothing but a quiet summer of playing Super Brawl (a video game). But when her dad kicks her out of the house, she stumbles across an old lady sitting on a rock with woolly dogs all around her. The old lady gives her one of the small woolly dogs which Aster names Buzz. One things leads to another and Aster accidentally awakens the trickster spirit Rapscallion. He grants her three wishes all of which have devastating effects. It's now up to Aster's (now talking) dog to save the day. Will he triumph or will he just create more chaos? I really liked this book and I hope a sequel comes out soon. My favorite part about this book was the style of the graphic artwork. It's cartoony yet realistic at the same time. I would give it a 9 out of 10 stars.

Nikki Tesla is a genius inventor, but one day she makes a death ray and her pet ferret Pickles blows a hole in her room. This event attracts attention from the Genius Academy (the academy for kid geniuses). After she is recruited for the Genius Academy her death ray is stolen. Join Nikki Tesla on the chase around the world from Italy to the Arctic to recover the death ray. I liked this book a lot. There was so much plot happening at once, I had to slow down to digest it all. My favorite character is Pickles the ferret who likes french fries (with gravy, please!).

The planet of Olympus has been destroyed forcing the Olympians and Titans to live together in peace. Any contact with humans is banned. When a Titan named Astraea finds a human, she discovers a plot to take over both the Titans and the Olympians. With her group of mythological friends, they must use their brains not just their brawn to stop the invasion before it's too late. Who will triumph? I can't wait for the next book in this series to come out.

Chess, Finn, and Emma Greystone come home one day to discover that kids sharing their names and birthdays have been kidnapped. The next day when their mother leaves them in the care of a friend while she goes on a a strange business trip, they decide to investigate. It only gets stranger from there on. The book gets off to a slow start but picks up the pace near the middle. If you like action, adventure and mystery, you'll love this first book in the Greystone Secrets series.

As soon as you open this book the action begins. When a girl discovers she's an elf and a telepath (she can read people's minds and levitate objects), she must abandon her foster parents to go to an Elvin school. Will she learn to control her abilities? You'll love this fast-paced, action-packed fantasy-adventure

Millions of year in the future, super-evolved felines rule the Earth. This is a classic story with an original twist. While Leo fights over the throne with his cousin Tamir, he realizes there's something more to the world than what he was old. The author's description of the fiery combat and breathtaking terrain makes the story fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. I can't wait for the next book in the Pride Wars series.

As Leo ventures deep into enemy territory to find his long lost parents, he must overcome many challenges both physical and mental. Oh, and he also has to complete the small task of stopping a demon from destroying the world. The plot of this interesting book has so many twists and turns which made it impossible to put down. I was surprised and pleased by the ending. The Four Guardians is the second book in the Pride Wars series and it is even better than the first.

When the thief girl, Magpie, attempts to rob a house she gets caught up in the race to build the first hot air balloon. She, her friend Pierre and their pets (a duck and a rooster) must face the threats of American competitors and spies. This book will keep you on your toes with lots of surprises. I was inspired to do research where I discovered that this book is based on the actual events in history.

This book is about a boy called Jack and a kid called Thomas. They are abducted by bounty hunters who think he is the super spy Giadus Clench. They must track the real Giadus Clench across the Universe. If you like adventure, mayhem, and sarcasm you will like this book!
